Religious Education Classes

Sundays from 8:45 am – 9:45 am at St. Ambrose School
September 8, 2019 – May 17, 2020 

St. Ambrose offers religious education classes for students in grades K-12 which include the preparation necessary to receive the Sacraments of First Holy Communion as well as Confirmation.  If you have a child whom you would like to register for the 2019-2020 academic year, please contact the the Religious Education Office.

Registration Information

In order to enroll in religious education classes at St. Ambrose Church, students and their families must be registered with the parish.  Click here for more information about registering with the parish.

  1. Click here to download the Religious Education registration form.  Please fill it out and drop it in the offertory basket or return it to the parish office.
  2. Payment may be made by cash, check or online through Faith Direct.  Checks should be made out to St. Ambrose Catholic Church.  Click here to make your payment online.  (Note: new Faith Direct users will need to create an account.)

Payment must accompany registration and registration is not complete without payment.

 Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC)

Sacramental Preparation for Students Who Have Missed First Communion or Confirmation

St. Ambrose offers Sacramental preparation classes for students who did not receive First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation at the customary age (2nd grade for First Communion and 8th grade for Confirmation in the Diocese of Arlington).

Jesus, Mary and a Cup of Joe

Sundays from 8:45 am – 9:45 am in the School Gym
September 8, 2019 – May 17, 2020 

Join us between the 8:00 am and 10:00 am Masses for Jesus, Mary, and a Cup of Joe!  We meet to learn more about the faith while enjoying fellowship and building community.  All adults are welcome!

Not sure it’s for you?  Come check it out.  Can’t come every week?  No problem.  Come when you can.  There’s no commitment and no pressure, just good coffee.

Volunteers Needed for 2019-20 Religious Education

Do you love your Catholic faith?  Are you able to work with children?  Are you willing to dedicate a few hours each week to their faith formation?  If so, please prayerfully consider becoming a religious education catechist or classroom aide.  Classroom aides are needed for grade 7.  Substitute catechists and hall monitors are also needed.  To volunteer, or for more information, please contact Nicole Filipowski, Director of Religious Education, online here or at 703-280-1122.

All volunteer catechists, aids and hall monitors must become compliant with the Diocese of Arlington
Child Protection Policy, to include a background check and VIRTUS seminar.
