"I would invite everyone to live this Lent as an opportunity for engaging in what Benedict XVI called a formation of the heart. A merciful heart does not mean a weak heart. Anyone who wishes to be merciful must have a strong and steadfast heart, closed to the tempter but open to God. A heart which lets itself be pierced by the Spirit so as to bring love along the roads that lead to our brothers and sisters. And, ultimately, a poor heart, one which realizes its own poverty and gives itself freely for others.

WORSHIP: The Intimate Encounter with Christ

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

The Mass is the primary place of intimate encounter with the Risen Jesus here at St. Ambrose. Why does the Church ask those who make up the Body of Christ to gather at least once a week to receive his living Presence in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass? Because “without me, you can do nothing” (Jn 15:5). This is the humble recognition of those who seek to love the Father by “keeping Holy the Sabbath” every Sunday.

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ sanctify me; Body of Christ, save me; Blood of Christ, inebriate me; Water from the side of Christ, wash me; Passion of Christ, strengthen me; O Good Jesus, hear me; Within your wounds, hide me; Never permit me to be separated from you; From the wicked enemy, defend me; In the hour of my death, call me; And bid me to come to your side, that with your saints I may praise you, for ever and ever. Amen

-Blessed Bernadine of Feltran
