"Only those who have been caressed by the tenderness of mercy truly know the Lord. The special place of the encounter is the caress of the mercy of Jesus Christ on my sin. And for this reason you have sometimes heard me say that the privileged place of the encounter with Jesus Christ is my sin. This embrace of mercy is what gives me the desire to respond and to change, and can pour forth a changed life.

WORSHIP: The Intimate Encounter with Christ

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

The Mass is the primary place of intimate encounter with the Risen Jesus here at St. Ambrose. Why does the Church ask those who make up the Body of Christ to gather at least once a week to receive his living Presence in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass? Because “without me, you can do nothing” (Jn 15:5). This is the humble recognition of those who seek to love the Father by “keeping Holy the Sabbath” every Sunday.

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ sanctify me; Body of Christ, save me; Blood of Christ, inebriate me; Water from the side of Christ, wash me; Passion of Christ, strengthen me; O Good Jesus, hear me; Within your wounds, hide me; Never permit me to be separated from you; From the wicked enemy, defend me; In the hour of my death, call me; And bid me to come to your side, that with your saints I may praise you, for ever and ever. Amen

-Blessed Bernadine of Feltran
