Diocesan WorkCamp needs you!

Diocesan WorkCamp is months of formation and preparation that culminates with a week long service project repairing and renovating homes of people who are mentally, physically or financially challenged or elderly. The teens and adult crew leaders prepare  for this for over 6 months .  Jesus says that the heart of the Christian faith is found in two great commandments: Loving God and loving others.  Loving God and loving others is what Work Camp is all about.

Last year we gathered with 800 other teens from around the diocese to put roofs on houses, build wheelchair ramps, and replace windows among many other things. We had the wonderful opportunity to meet and share the love of our Lord Jesus Christ with other people in our diocese - not only fellow Catholics from other parishes, but more importantly, with the residents that we served that week.

This year, St. Ambrose will need a full team including  teens, contractors,  adult crew leaders, security volunteers; tool transport and sandwich making teams.

We  need your help…

Most importantly we need your prayers for the adults that volunteer, the teens that go and especially for the people we serve..

and...

We need volunteers…

St. Ambrose needs adult crew leaders and contractors to help with projects. The Diocese can also use anyone who is handy around the house and at any time this summer.   If you can give any time, please contact  Andy Stoss, our 2019 WorkCamp Stakeholder, at SAStakeholder@stambroseva.org

It costs $475 for each teen and adult leader that attends WorkCamp.  All funds go to renting the high school where we stay, feeding us the entire week and purchasing all the supplies needed to complete projects at over 180 homes. We spend the year doing a lot of fundraising and appreciate your financial support.

Please know that we will be praying for you, our Parish family, during our week at WorkCamp and we hope you will remember us in your prayers. St Ambrose is a loving and generous community and we are truly blessed to be part of it!

Thank you and God bless you!
