Religious Education

St. Ambrose offers high-quality religious education for youth in grades K-High School on Sunday mornings from 8:45-9:45AM in the parish school building. Classes run from September through May. Please register early as classes tend to fill up quickly!

Registration is now open and classes are being scheduled for the 2015/2016 year. You can register in one of two ways:

1. Registration with payment by cash/check: Click HERE to download the form, fill it out, make check payable to St. Ambrose and drop it off in the basket at church or at the parish office.)


2. Online registration with payment by Faith Direct ONLY: Click HERE to register online and pay via your Faith Direct account.  Not signed up yet for Faith Direct?  Click HERE to sign up first.

Rite of Christian Initation for Children (RCIC)

Sacramental preparation for older students who have not received First Penance, First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation at the customary age (2nd grade for First Reconciliation/First Communion and 8th grade for Confirmation), in addition to Sunday morning classes, are to be enrolled in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC) program.

For RCIC students the classes are on Monday evenings in the Parish Library from 7-8 pm. 

Jesus, Mary, and a cup o' Jo!

While your youth is in Religious Education class, all parents and adult parishioners are welcome to join us in the school gym for a cup of coffee and faith discussion.

The Office of Religious Education is seeking catechists, aides, substitute catechists, and hall monitors for the parish's Sunday morning Religious Education program. If you are interested in helping or learning more, please contact Laura Mead at (703) 280-1122 or email her at dre@stambroseva.org Please prayerfully consider if God is calling you to serve in this way!


Men and Women are needed to Lector at the Sunday, as well as, the Daily Masses. No experience necessary. If you would like to be part of this special ministry, please contact the Parish Office at 703-280-4400.
