Ladies Book Group/Bible Study

Ladies Book Group Starts January 14: This fall, we began a Walking with Purpose Bible Study group. We read the book “Walking with Purpose”, and enjoyed the group so much that we decided to continue meeting weekly. We will resume January 14. There will be two sessions, 10am and 7pm on Thursdays. We will be reading "Nine Words, a Bible Study to Help You Become the BestVersion-of-Yourself" by Allen R. Hunt. The study will meet for 9 weeks, and cost $10. We hope to provide Baby-sitting for the morning study. Please email Barbara Dalmut at bdalmut@gmail.com to sign up, let us know if you need babysitting, and ask any other questions. You may register at the first session on Thursday, January 14. Please note: This is not a fitness program -- we don't walk! We are learning how to have a more fulfilling Walk with our Lord each and every day. All ladies are welcome!

First Corinthians Ascension Press Bible Study..beginning in January

The conflicts of the early Christians in Corinth are in many ways similar to our struggles today as Christians. They, too, witnessed division, scandal, immorality, persecution and other trials. In response, St. Paul taught the Corinthians about the Church as the Body of Christ, introducing them to the most powerful gift of all: the Eucharist.

Join us for First Corinthians (11 sessions) in the parish hall beginning Wednesday January 13th at either 10am or 7pm.

For more information or to register for the study contact Laura Mead at Lmead@stambroseva.org. You will get information about ordering the book directly from Ascension Press.

Prayer for illumination

O Lord and lover of men, shine in our hearts the pure light of your divine knowledge, and open the eyes of our mind to the understanding of your Gospel teaching....For you are the light of our souls and of our bodies, Christ O God, and we give glory to you, together with your eternal Father and your all-holy, good and life-giving Spirit, now and forever, world without end. Amen.

-St. John Chrysostom (347-407)
