“Faith is our response to a Word which engages us personally, to a 'Thou' who calls us by name.”

Also, we have two different Bible Studies Starting this September.  Choose the one that looks right for you...or join us for both!

JEFF CAVINS BIBLE STUDY...PSALMS...BEGINNING IN SEPTEMBER At the heart of the Bible are the Psalms, prayers from God that help us learn to pray. The Holy Spirit inspired them. Israel sang them. Christ himself prayed them, as did our Blessed Mother. These sacred hymns become our heartfelt response to God’s loving and wondrous deeds for us. Their words captivate the imagination and draw us into a deeply personal encounter with God. Join us for Psalms: The School of Prayer beginning September 16 at 10am and 7pm continuing every Wednesday for 11 weeks. The cost for materials is $30. For more information or to register for the study please contact Laura Mead at LMead@stambroseva.org

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY IN THE FALL In September, we will offer the Bible study "Walking with Purpose" on Thursday mornings at 10am. We will have weekly small group meetings, and a monthly social/coffee that will help us grow as a community of faith. Walking with Purpose is a Catholic women’s Bible study that aims to bring women to a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ by offering personal study and small group discussion that link our everyday challenges and struggles with the solutions given to us through the teachings of Christ and the Roman Catholic Church. The group will meet starting on September 3rd at 9:30 and continue for 22 weeks, with a break for Christmas. Babysitting will be provided for the morning sessions. If we have enough interest for an evening group, we will also have a 7:00pm study. Please contact Barbara Dalmut at bdalmut@verizon.net if you are interested in signing up. We hope you will prayerfully consider joining us!

Prayer for illumination

O Lord and lover of men, shine in our hearts the pure light of your divine knowledge, and open the eyes of our mind to the understanding of your Gospel teaching....For you are the light of our souls and of our bodies, Christ O God, and we give glory to you, together with your eternal Father and your all-holy, good and life-giving Spirit, now and forever, world without end. Amen.

-St. John Chrysostom (347-407)
