Adult Faith Formation

The pursuit of a relationship with Jesus is a life-long work of grace and perseverance. As St. Ambrose himself once wrote,"every age is mature for Christ!" (De Virginitate, 40).
Adults are encouraged to seek the companionship of parish friends who follow Christ through the life of his universal Church, and often pursue these timeless practices:
Frequent reception of the sacraments
Adoration
Daily readings
The Rosary
Continuing education
Sunday Mornings:
Jesus, Mary, and a cup of Jo'
This ministry began as an opportunity for parents to enjoy some coffee and discuss faith at the same time their children were in Religious Education classes. Currently, meetings are open to all adults in the parish who would like to refresh their own "religious education" on Sunday mornings in the St. Ambrose School Gym from 8:45-9:45 am. Please call (703) 280-1122 for more information and ask to speak with Simone.
Women of Grace
All women of the parish are invited to join the group in the Women of Grace Study Program. This program is an exciting adventure to discover who you are in the eyes of God and embrace the great gifts of authentic femininity and spiritual motherhood. With the blessed Virgin Mary as the model and guide, this study will deepen your prayer life, increase your knowledge of the Catholic Faith and allow you to deepen your friendships with the other women of the parish. The first meeting is on September 18th at 7 pm in the Parish Hall. After September 18th, we will plan on meeting the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. The study guide we will use is the Full of Grace series by EWTN's Johnette Benkovic. The cost of the study guide and text is $44. Scholarships are available. Please contact Laura Mead at 703-280-4400 or lmead@stambroseva.org to sign up!
Lightworks "Lectio Divina" Meetings
In recognizing the thirst of many for a deep sense of spirituality based on a more intimate relationship with Christ, Lightworks is aimed to bring about this experience in a communitarian atmosphere. The program will meet for 14 straight weeks, in which the participants will share the fruit of their refection in a friendly setting of small groups of 8 people. There will be printed materials to give guidance for the participants to reflect on passages of Scripture. The overall direction of the 14 weeks of reflection is to attain the love of God in a personal level, and with this direction, a participant will journey through experiences on the Incarnation, the Passion and the Resurrection.
Meeting times: Thursdays, 7-9pm
